Stafford MSD is proud to share our brand refresh with the community. A brand is more than a logo. It’s an expression of everything we do and stand for in SMSD, and there are many different visual and verbal elements involved. We wanted to honor our history, while defining our look including logos, messaging, typography, color palette, accessibility, brand elements, and photography.

Our website is powered by Finalsite, and SMSD believes it is best to start by promoting important communications and messaging on the worldwide web as this information is simultaneously accessible to staff, families, and community. We have a user friendly, mobile-first website with optimal accessibility depending on the device being used including cell phones, desktop computers, laptops, and tablets. We have connected the navigation for all of our campus websites including:

Events
With so many activities and updates happening on campus every day, our website's Calendar Manager enables users to organize, update and notify others with ease. Community members can subscribe for email and text event reminders, or use dynamic iCal feeds to automatically update calendars with school’s events. Additionally, users filter or search all events by campus.

News Stories
These posts add a dynamic view into the day-to-day life of students, parents, volunteers, and staff at our school by telling stories, sharing announcements, and promoting upcoming events.

Athletic Events
Another powerful tool on the website that tracks over 50 of our athletics teams at SMS and SHS by campus, season, sport, division, and gender. Connect with our amazing student athletes by subscribing to events and checking game recaps / results.

Our main goal for all social media platforms is to share information and engage with families. We want you to stay plugged in with us throughout the day, and whenever you decide to scroll your favorite newsfeed. Peachjar is a digital flyer management solution used by SMSD to distribute flyers to parents about important school and community events including from non-profit organizations.

Criteria and Guidelines

The following must be met before flyers will be approved and distributed to campuses:

• It must clearly indicate this is an activity for students and be age and/or developmentally appropriate for students;
• It must not compete or conflict with existing district operations, guidelines, events, and/or activities;
• The group distributing the flyer must be identified by the Internal Revenue Service as a non-profit 501(c)(3) or 501(c)4 organization;
• If the flyer is advertising an event, it should include date, time and location;
• If at any time it is determined that previous non-school related literature presented for approval contained false information or did not accurately represent the intent of the program, the approval of future material submitted by the requesting organization may be jeopardized.
• All community flyers not sponsored by SMSD are required to include the following disclaimer: This program is not sponsored by Stafford MSD. Approval to distribute flyers is a community service and does not imply endorsement.

S-METV is the Municipal Education and Government Access channel for the City of Stafford. Programming includes SMSD board meetings, City of Stafford meetings, public meetings, special community events, news conferences and Stafford weekly news. The channel broadcasts 24/7 at www.staffordtx.gov from the Scarcella Building at Houston Community College, Southwest Campus. It is also available to Comcast cable subscribers on Channel 16 and AT&T U-verse Channel 99.

We love highlighting our students and staff at SMSD. Through our great partnership with S-METV, we’re able to put together Spartan Spotlights and Spartan Sports Central. These episodes are aired daily on the S-METV cable channel, YouTube, and across social media platforms.
